Cutting heating costs by more than 50% and saving thousands of dollars while preserving the planet
The building analyzed is an industrial steel mill producing displays for supermarkets, factories, warehouses or other types of commercial enterprises. Etalex is known from coast to coast for its ability to meet any commercial development need. Founded in 1966, the company's facilities and team have grown as fast as their reputation over the years. With over 500,000 sq. ft. of space in their two plants, they have all the equipment needed to design and manufacture all the components and furniture for their displays.
No visibility on energy consumption for any of the equipment
Large area to monitor, including a factory and an office
Limited resources for maintenance and implementation of new technologies
Commitment to reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint
Etalex chose to implement the VISION product in its factory and offices. Maxen connects directly to the building control systems to monitor energy consumption in real time, keep a history and highlight anomalies related to different types of equipment.
The first year allowed the team to build a historical comparison and create a base to rely on in subsequent years, while being able to compare similar equipment and detect certain irregularities in the behavior of machines.
By the second year, the maintenance team was able to implement action plans to achieve better control of hot-cold issues, reduce heat pump usage through better insulation and significantly reduce overall energy consumption.
"Not only did the Maxen team allow us to understand the energy consumption in our factory, but also to identify consumption anomalies in our offices."
